Wiener Städtische Life Insurance enriches Podgorica by planting a new tree line – Stari Aerodrom gains 18 paulownia trees
Wiener Städtische Life Insurance, part of the Vienna Insurance Group, Austria’s leading insurance group that has been successfully operating in the Montenegrin market since October 2010, has once again demonstrated its social responsibility through a tree-planting initiative along Miloš Obilić Street in the Stari Aerodrom neighborhood of Podgorica.
Thanks to the initiative organized in cooperation with Zelenilo Podgorica and the Do Good Foundation, the Stari Aerodrom neighborhood is now richer by 18 new trees, which will contribute to a more beautiful, healthier, and greener environment in the Capital City.
As a company that cares about the security and future of its clients, Wiener Städtische recognizes the importance of preserving the natural environment in which we live and operate. They emphasize that the tree-planting initiative aims to inspire and motivate others – individuals, organizations, and the community as a whole.
The Director of Wiener Städtische Life Insurance, Andrija Pešić, stated that traditionally, Wiener Städtische employees take part in socially responsible activities that contribute to the community, and that this time, by planting trees, they wish to make a small but meaningful contribution to creating a more beautiful and healthier environment.
“After a summer marked by numerous fires across the country, we feel even more strongly the importance of greening and preserving nature, because every new tree means new life, new hope, and a concrete action toward restoring our environment,” said Pešić.
He emphasized that they believe every company has an obligation not only to achieve good business results but also to have a positive impact on the environment in which it operates – on nature, the community, and the people around it.
“That’s why we are especially pleased to once again collaborate this year with Zelenilo and the Do Good Foundation, because together we are creating tangible change and setting an example of how responsible business can go hand in hand with care for society,” Pešić added.
The company stated that for this very reason, Wiener Städtische Life Insurance continues to build its identity not only as a leader in the life insurance market but also as a community partner that invests in the beauty and health of the environment in which it operates.
The spokesperson for Zelenilo, Milica Vukčević, said that they were pleased to have planted a new tree line in Stari Aerodrom together with Wiener Städtische.
“The tree line consists of 18 paulownia saplings, and we hope that in this way we will help beautify this part of the city. We are always pleased when socially responsible companies recognize our work and commitment to a greener Podgorica, and when they direct their corporate social responsibility activities toward that goal,” said Vukčević.
Wiener Städtische representative Milena Jovović reminded that the company organizes activities every year known as Social Active Day, through which employees work together as a team to contribute to the community.
She noted that in previous years their focus was on the youngest members of society, while this year the priority was placed on greening the city. In the coming years, the company will continue to listen to the needs of the community and direct its efforts where they are most needed—whether toward local or broader social initiatives.
